Tandag, Rosario beach ~Philippines
Our day at Rosario beach was not scheduled since we were supposed to leave this day and go to a small island called Dinagad. The day before departure we didn't even pack our things because of the bad weather that made the waves too huge to travel. Since we're backpackers we didn't even think of the fact that it also was Sunday which means that no one has time for trips, only jesus. So for two reasons we stayed one more day in Tandag and packed a tent and picknick and went to the black sand beach of Rosario. We ate peanut butter and bananas, got accompanied by a puppy and I burned my nose (I'm proud this happened after 4 weeks).

"Do you want a buko?" Ian asked me and I don't even know why he asked because the answer couldn't be anything other than yes? Anyway, he went to the nearest coconut tree and got down a coconut for me. I don't know how I'm ever going to be able to NOT live in a country where bananas and mangos and coconuts are just given to you for free.

Alone we sat on the beach, for five minutes. This is the time the filipinos actually can stand being in the sun without panicking over getting too tanned or just too hot. We north folks just embrace every ray of sun, so yes, we seperated for a couple of hours til' we packed the tent and went back home.
Can we just take a moment and talk about religion here, or actually I just want to state and tell you guys that the Philippines is a very religious country. It's catholic and not catholic in a way Spain or Italy are, much more. They get amazed by how liberated Sweden is when it comes to, for example, prevention of pregnancy. Birth control pills doesn't even exist in their vocabulary and there are no "easy" relations. If you form a relation with someone that means it's going to lead somewhere = marriage. To me who is from a very free and liberated Sweden showing and talking about natural things such as love, sex and body happens on the street, the subway, with your mum. It happens everywhere, here it's just tabu, weird and dirty. It's interesting how a country can get the religion of a country and then just stay way more conservative than it.
